Information Systems Security Officer

Elysian Technology is seeking a Information Systems Security Officer to deliver value to our customers by developing and implementing plans to help customers secure their environment. This position will require a flexible person who learns quickly, likes to use many different technologies, and has a solid foundation of IT knowledge. This experience and knowledge will be used to support our customers in a meaningful and value-driven way.

Successful Information Systems Security Officers (ISSO) research, develop, implement, test, and review an organization’s information security to protect information and prevent unauthorized access. Officers inform users about security measures, explain potential threats, install software, implement security measures, and monitor networks. Officers also define, create, and maintain the documentation for certification and accreditation of each information system in accordance with government requirements. They also assess the impacts on system modifications and technological advances. Additionally, ISSOs review systems to identify potential security weaknesses, recommend improvements to amend vulnerabilities, implement changes and document upgrades.


  • Assist lead ISSM in all phases of DAAPM ATO process for new and existing systems
  • Experience supporting SIPRNet ATO Requirements
  • eMASS experience
  • Perform Control Selection, tailoring and documentation activities
  • Create supporting artifacts, PPSM, system/network topology, policy, and procedures
  • Perform control assessments and remediation, STIG/SCAP, POA&M, Security Assessment Reports
  • Perform continuous monitoring duties, impact analysis, risk mitigations, risk assessment reports
  • Maintain system documentation in accordance with continuous monitoring activities and system baseline changes
  • Familiar with NIST 800-53 Rev 4


  • Two years of experience as an Information Systems Security Officer
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
  • Understanding of the market, business, and technical requirements
  • Expertise with:
    • Host Based Security System (HBSS)
    • Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
    • McAfee (ePO)
    • Splunk
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
  • Ability to effectively manage one’s own time
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • US Citizenship
  • Security+ Certification


This position requires an onsite presence at the Cambridge, MA office.
